This list documents the key milestones in the creation of the Friedensmal. From the laying of the foundation stone to the most recent inauguration of Peace Stones, it provides a detailed insight into the various phases and events that have shaped the project. It serves as a chronicle of the encounters, celebrations, and milestones that have made the monument what it is today. The enumeration proceeds from bottom to top.22 Stones for Peace - On Sunday, May 22, 2022, between 300 and 400 people gathered at the Friedensmal in Bensheim, often coming from far away for the event. In a four-hour celebration, 22 new peace stones were inaugurated at the memorial, representing values in togetherness.
Turning Point for Life - On May 14, 2017, Rabbi Mordechai Mendelson set the Turning Point for Life at a meeting of his congregation at the Friedensmal in Bensheim-Hochstädten. He consecrated the Turning Point and blessed the place by reading Psalm 126.
Inauguration Celebration - On September 27, 2015, the Friedensmal was inaugurated for Germany. This happened with an event within the celebration of "50 years of relations between Israel and Germany".
Encounter Fest - On May, 18, 2014 the Jewish Chabad community from Karlsruhe celebrated the festival Lag baOmer at the Friedensmal in Bensheim-Hochstädten. It was an encounter fest with local people.
An Idea of Jerusalem - Inauguration of the Friedensmal as the 'Jerusalem Peace Memorial' (Jerusalem Friedensmal) on the front pages of the Jerusalem Post and HaAretz in Israel.
Encounter Stone - On October 21, 2012, the Jerusalem Memorial Stone (with the inauguration of the whole monument in 2015 it became the Jerusalem Stone of Encounter) was inaugurated as a Border Stone. The pictures and explanations tell a parable about how to get back to the heart.
Blossom of Life - On May, 17, 2012 the Blossom of Life was inaugurated and the place was opened to the public. Here you will find pictures and texts which give a good impression about the celebration.
Psalm Hike - Hebrew psalms at the "Street of Peace". Hike from the Hochstaedter valley to the construction site of the Friedensmal (monument) on the hill.
Foundation stone - On April 26, 2010 was the laying of the foundation stone with Dean Thomas Gross. Everything started here. The whole monument has been constructed from this point.
